Finishing
Concours-level paint in Honda-correct colours, zinc and chrome plating and vapour blasting, so every part of your bike gets the finish it deserves.
No restoration needed. Paint and plating are services in their own right. If you just want a few parts painted, Cliff can help. If you only need parts electroplated, zinc or chrome, he can help with that too, and the same goes for vapour blasting your engine cases. Bring in a single tank, a bag of nuts and bolts or a set of handlebars, whatever you've got.
Paint done properly
Cliff arranges professional painting of Honda Monkey and small Honda parts to a very high standard. Whether it's a single tank or a complete set of parts, every piece is handled with the same attention to detail that goes into our restorations.
Cliff has access to a professional third-party painting facility.
Parts we can have painted
- Fuel tanks
- Frames
- Mudguards / fenders
- Wheels and rims
- Side panels
- Engine covers
- Other small parts – just ask

Zinc plating for small parts and fixings
Nothing finishes a restoration like a full set of fresh, bright fixings. The original nuts, bolts and small parts are cleaned, stripped and zinc plated, so they look as they did when the bike left the factory and are protected against corrosion for years to come.
- Nuts, bolts, screws and washers
- Brackets, clips and small fittings
- Cable adjusters, spacers and other small parts
- Keeps your original, period-correct fixings rather than modern replacements
Chrome plating for parts large and small
Pitted, rusty or dull chrome can let down an otherwise perfect bike. Parts big and small are stripped, repaired where needed, polished and re-chromed to a deep, mirror finish.
- Handlebars
- Exhaust systems and heat shields
- Mudguards, grab rails and carriers
- Levers, headlamp rims, mirrors and small chrome fittings
- Other chrome trim – just ask

Vapour blasting for engine cases
Years of oil, grime and oxidation leave old alloy engine cases dull and stained. Cliff cleans them up in his Vixen vapour blasting cabinet. A fine mix of water and media gently lifts the dirt and corrosion without harming the metal, leaving a soft, even satin finish that looks just like new alloy.
- Crankcases and engine side covers
- Cylinder heads and barrels
- Carburettor bodies and other alloy parts
- Gentle on the metal, ideal before an engine rebuild
Just want your cases blasted? That's no problem. Vapour blasting is a standalone service too, so you don't need a full restoration or engine rebuild to use it.
How it works
1. Tell Cliff what you've got
Send a photo or a quick list: a tank to paint, a bag of bolts to zinc, handlebars to re-chrome or engine cases to blast. He'll let you know what's possible and give you an idea of cost.
2. Drop off or post your parts
Bring them to the workshop in Potters Bar or post them in, well packed. Each part is cleaned, stripped and prepared properly before it's painted, plated or vapour blasted.
3. Back to you, ready to fit
Finished parts are checked and returned to you ready to bolt on. If Cliff is restoring your bike too, they go straight back on the bike.
Prices & turnaround
Every job is different, so paint and plating are priced on inspection. Send Cliff a photo or a list of your parts and he'll give you an idea of cost and turnaround.
